We are very lucky to be within a 15 minute drive of 2 local Yorkshire Vineyards.

What a lush setting… Yorkshire Heart Vineyard, as you might surmise from the name, is among wine vines in the Yorkshire countryside, in green and pleasant land. Set in the village of Nun Monkton, it spreads over 35 handsome acres, ten of which are made up of rich and leafy vineyards.

    Dunesford Vineyard

    Twenty years of research and discovery preceded this four acre vineyard in upper Dunsforth. This vineyard has Roman connections and is near to the old Roman Road that ran from York to Aldborough with historical findings. Well worth a visit.

    Fountains Abbey is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercianmonasteries in England. It is located approximately 3 miles (5 kilometres) south-west of Ripon in North Yorkshire, near to the village of Aldfield. Founded in 1132, the abbey operated for over 400 years, until 1539, when Henry VIII ordered the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

    The signs to the Pub were very clear. The room was very clean and tidy. Evening meal and breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere.
